About Old Colorado City

Known for its rich history, Old Colorado City is the oldest established city in the Pikes Peak region. Unique restaurants and shops (including Simpich Character Dolls, Van Briggle Pottery and the Michael Garman Gallery) are housed in 100-year-old buildings that will take you back in time. To celebrate this area as the first capitol of the Colorado Territory, Old Colorado City hosts its annual Territory Days – a three-day street festival with craft, commercial and food vendors. During the holidays, folks like to stroll down the city streets and take in the ambiance of the beautifully decorated storefronts. This neighborhood is also home to Bancroft Park, Thorndale Park, Bear Creek Regional Park and Nature Center and Red Rock Canyon, which features rock formations similar to those found at the Garden of the Gods. The Academy Riding Stables are also nearby as well as the Ghost Town.
